I enjoyed the place, it was wonderful, old, and luxurious. The staff were outstandingly accommodating. The continental breakfast with grandmama's preserves was delicious. The location was excellent - near the ferry at Calais, nearby Aire-sur-la-Lys, which is a brisk 25-minute walk or a short drive, and the WW1 battlefields and memorials.

On arrival, we were greeted on the steps of the Chateau by the charming, ever helpful owner and his son, who provided excellent friendly service throughout our stay. The hotel itself is wonderfully atmospheric and beautifully decorated and furnished. The French breakfast was very good. Location is good, peaceful and quiet, less than an hour from Calais, and within walking distance of the delightful town of Aire sur la Lys. Highly recommended.

The staff were so helpful and the complimentary breakfast was a nice touch. the individually decorated rooms with bathrobes had a special atmosphere. Plus, there was a lovely garden to enjoy. Breakfast offered a wide range of food options like breads and cereals.

Excellent attention to detail. Obviously wish to make people feel welcome with the result this is worthy of a good hotel rating, still less a b&b. Agree with the comment about fridges, & no doubt this is something they will look at in due course.

The owners greeted us, made us feel welcome and showed us to our beautifully furnished, luxuriously comfortable and sweet-smelling room. Soft towels and robes were a pleasure to find in a recently-refurbished en-suite bedroom. Unfortunately, I was feeling rather ill on arrival so couldn't take advantage of the offer of a five-course supper which I am sure would have been excellent. We slept peacefully all night, waking to a fabulous shower and superb breakfast. Our hosts were attentive throughout without being obsequious and even waved us goodbye in the freezing cold weather. The nearby town of Aire was a nice bonus and we ended doing all our Christmas shopping there rather than in the overrated Christmas market at Lille. Very much looking forward to staying again in the spring when I hope to sample the fine dining. Fantastic.
Nothing.

The friendly welcome and helpful owner and son who made us all feel at home in their luxurious family chateau which they have renovated beautifully . The rooms are large with comfortable large beds and lovely newly refurbished modern bathrooms. The dinner was good with large portions and all home cooked !excellent cuisine. They catered for a gluten-free requirement with an excellent alternative and brought gluten free croissants freshly baked in the morning .! We felt very welcome and will certainly plan a return visit !
